One of our favorite weeks of the year is coming up very quickly – DFW Restaurant Week! For 2015, the event will take place the week of August 10. If you are unfamiliar with this tradition, it’s an opportunity to eat great food, at great prices, at great restaurants, and benefit charity! What’s not to love?! Here’s the full 411 on all things DFW Restaurant Week at State & Allen.
What is Restaurant Week?
It started back in late 90s when restaurants saw an opportunity to benefit charity and bolster their summer business. Everyone knows that the restaurant business is a bit slower in August. Many choose to spend their money on vacations, poolside fun, and back to school stuff vs. eating out. Savvy restaurateurs in Dallas saw an opportunity and restaurant week was created. It’s been a tradition in Dallas for 18 years and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon!
What can I expect?
All participating restaurants are locked into set pricing across the board - $35-$45 a person for a prix fixe dinner. State & Allen Kitchen + Bar is offering our 3-course, prix fixe Restaurant Week meal for $35. The full menu is available on our website here. We hope you are as delighted as we are with the mouthwatering choices!
What charities will I be supporting?
This year, DFW Restaurant Week benefits the North Texas Food Bank in Dallas and Lena Pope in Fort Worth, an organization that helps orphaned children in North Texas.
