So summer is officially ending, but there is no reason to be sad! Our Fall schedule at State & Allen Kitchen + Bar is jam packed with beer tastings, football watch parties, and more to help make the transition a little easier.

Another favorite at State & Allen is our gourmet pizza in Dallas. Scratch kitchen pizza doesn’t get much better than this! All your favorite pizzas are half off all day on Labor Day! You’re going to have trouble deciding which to choose, so bring a whole group and order several! A few customer favorites include The White, Wild Mushroom, The Tony, and the Meaty Meat. And a fun fact for all you foodies out there: all of the tomatoes used in our homemade sauce are local, Texas tomatoes. ·      Wine Popsicles: Ever had a wine popsicle? NO?! People – get down to State & Allen and try one today! They are offered in a variety of fun flavors - mimosa, sangria, margarita, and strawberry - and can be ordered independently at just $5 a pop. Hint: the best way to enjoy one is to add it to your cocktail for just $3. One of our favorite combos…the Vivas Las Ritas Margarita paired with the Strawberry Wine Popsicle and salt. Amazing.

·      Sangrias: Don’t wine about the weather; beat the heat with one of Dallas’ best sangrias from State & Allen! Our Summer Lovin’ Sangria is a traditional favorite, with our house red wine, brandy, splash of orange juice, simple syrup, and fresh fruit mixed to perfection. With summer just weeks away, who isn’t dreaming of vacations in the Caribbean, concerts at dusk, and long days at the lake?!


Even if you can’t get to the beach anytime soon, State & Allen wants you to feel those summer vibes with some of our amazing summery cocktails. Handcrafted with only the finest liquors, State & Allen offers a variety of options infused with exotic flavors. Check out a few of our summertime favorites!


·      Summertime in the City: Welp. The name pretty much says it all. And this isn’t your typical summer beer type drink either. Branch out and give this tasty cocktail a try, made with Basil Haydens Bourbon, a splash of Amaro Lucano, St. Germaine, and lemon bitters. If you like whiskey with a fresh twist, this one’s for you!

·      Fresh & Spicy: We are really digging the trend toward the “margarita with a twist.” Order some Tex Mex, pass on the margarita, and order the “Fresh & Spicy” instead. It’s a little Herradura tequila mixed with lime juice, cilantro, Cointreau, and then a little Ancho Reyes to kick it up a notch.

·      Born on the 4th of July: Watermelon is the essence of a summer picnic, and the centerpiece of this refreshing drink. Pair American Revolution vodka, watermelon syrup, lime juice, basil, and a little soda, and you’ve got the tastes of summer in a glass.

·      Caribbean Star: If you can’t get to the beach, why not just close your eyes and pretend with this tropical cocktail. Sweet and simple, it’s coconut rum, Pernod, and peach nectar all in one delicious drink.

State & Allen Releases New Entrees for Fall

State & Allen

As the weather changes, so do our tastebuds. Somehow we just start craving hearty comfort foods instead of our summertime favorites.


The chefs at State & Allen are no different that you and I, and that’s why they’ve cooked up some fabulous new bistro entrees to add to the fall/winter menu at your favorite Dallas restaurant.


Here’s the lowdown:


·      Toasted Butternut Squash and Manchego Ravioli: Oh how we love the rich flavor of Manchego cheese, and it’s perfectly accented in this dish. Al dente ravioli covered in smoked bacon, mushrooms, arugula, walnuts, brown butter, and calvados gastrique. Yum.

·      Filet Mignon: This is comfort food at it’s finest – but jazzed up the State & Allen way! Perfectly seared filet is served with our signature 3-cheese macaroni and cheese, roasted broccolini, and cab demi sauce.

·      Shrimp Fettuccine: Don’t pass this one up – it’s not your typical fettuccine. Fresh shrimp, bacon, sun-dried tomatoes, and a smoked fresno cream sauce are served on a bed of homemade fettuccine noodles. The result – comforting goodness.

·      Barrel Planked Salmon: Get your daily dose of seafood with our barrel planked salmon dish, served with roasted asparagus, red wine risotto, and rosemary butter.

·      Pan Seared Airline Chicken: Lots of hearty favorites, all in one dish! Pan seared chicken, seasonal vegetables, mashed potatoes, and a lemon garlic veloute to top it off.

·      Venison Osso Bucco: Fall favorites abound with venison, parsnips, and glazed baby carrots, drizzled with a black currant braise.

As if our famous Uptown brunch was not enough, we’ve upped the ante with the only Bloody Mary Bar in Uptown! All the fixins – olives, celery, onions, etc. – available for you to make it just how you like it! It’s the perfect brunch accompaniment and hangover cure.

3.    Impress a Date with Our Impeccable Bistro Entrees

At State & Allen, we recently overhauled our menu and some of the new entrée offerings are sure to impress. How about some Veal Scallopini? Or maybe the Pasta Del Mar: shrimp, crab, and mussels tossed with asparagus, fresno peppers, and spinach, then served over al dente pasta with a side of grilled corn vin blanc. No doubt, women make a huge contribution to society, let alone the restaurant industry! The month of March is Women’s History Month, a month when we celebrate and pay tribute to the countless women who have made this nation – and this state – great!

For the restaurant industry specifically, women make an invaluable contribution.

Countless women hold roles as restaurant owners, chefs, wait staff, hostesses, etc. In fact, over HALF of the restaurants in America are owned or co-owned by a woman! Boil that down to a state level: with 41,000+ restaurants in the state of Texas – supporting 1.2 million jobs and accounting for 10% of the state’s employment –it’s safe to say that women are pretty valuable to the overall balance and infrastructure of the restaurant industry!

State and Allen is proud to have many amazing women on staff, and one such woman is Eleanor Moore.

With over thirty years of experience in the restaurant industry, Eleanor recently joined us as the Controller for State & Allen Kitchen + Bar, Savoring Catering, and Calabrese & Winkler Holdings, LLC.

She began her career as a waitress early in her adult life, working her way up to hostess, and then short order cook. In 1980, she was offered an office position and jumped at the opportunity to learn the inner-workings of how a restaurant was run. She loved learning new things and seeing the corporate side of the restaurant business. She stayed with that company for 33 years, developing business savvy and hands-on experience into how a restaurant functions on the business side of things.

State & Allen is proud to have a woman with such experience and knowledge of the restaurant industry leading the charge!
